Spyware Habits to be uninstalled

The spyware 'Adtomi' is a stock tracking program that will display pop-up advertisements in the background.

The spyware files on the system will be able to be detected as Adware under the file name "Adtomi".

The most common installation method for this application is through Web sites.

When Adtomi's Spyware runs, it does the following

Adds the value:

"YahooStock" = "path to executable"

to the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\
Microsoft\Current Version\Run

so that the program starts when you start Windows.

Displays a message box prompting the user for a stock symbol.

Creates the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adtomi

This adware program would have to be manually installed. There are several known programs that have Adtomi's spyware within them and that install it as the program itself is installed.

Make sure to run a full system scan with Anti-Spyware to identify that this security risk no longer resides on your system.

Then Delete the spyware value that was added to the registry.

Scanning for and Uninstalling the Spyware files

Run the Spyware uninstaller and make sure that it is configured to scan all files.

Run a full system spyware scan.

If any files are detected as spyware infected with the Adware Adtomi, click Delete.

Uninstalling the Spyware Values from the Registry

Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)

Type regedit

Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)

Navigate to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the right pane, delete the value:

"YahooStock" = "path to executable"

Navigate to and delete the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adtomi

Exit the Registry Editor.
